Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the services of Service Assist Pro ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services or website.
Services Provided
Service Assist Pro provides residential handyman and minor home repair services including but not limited to furniture assembly, shelf and TV mounting, door and lock replacement, faucet installation, weatherstripping, caulking, and general household fixes. Our services are available to homeowners across Edmonton and surrounding communities.
Service Limitations
We do not provide services that require specialized trade licensing including major electrical work, HVAC installation, structural modifications, or large-scale renovations. We reserve the right to decline any project that falls outside our scope of expertise or service area.
Pricing and Payment
Our services are billed at an hourly rate provided to you before scheduling. There are no minimum project size requirements. Payment is due upon completion of services. We accept standard payment methods including cash, credit cards, and electronic transfers. Additional costs for materials will be discussed and approved before purchase.
Scheduling and Appointments
Appointments are scheduled based on mutual availability. We strive to arrive at the scheduled time but cannot guarantee exact timing due to factors beyond our control. If we need to reschedule, we will provide reasonable notice. Clients are responsible for providing access to the work area at the scheduled time.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
Clients may cancel or reschedule appointments with reasonable notice. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may be subject to a cancellation fee. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances, weather conditions, or emergencies.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the work required
- Ensuring access to the work area
- Removing or protecting valuable items near the work area
- Disclosing any known hazards or special conditions
- Providing necessary utilities (electricity, water) for the work
- Obtaining any required permits or approvals
Warranty and Liability
We warrant that our work will be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner. If you are not satisfied with our work, please notify us within 7 days of service completion. We will make reasonable efforts to address any legitimate concerns.
Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, hidden defects, or damage resulting from factors beyond our control. We carry appropriate insurance coverage for our operations.
Property Damage
While we take precautions to protect your property, accidents can occur. We maintain liability insurance to cover property damage caused by our negligence. Clients must report any damage within 48 hours of service completion. We are not liable for damage to items not disclosed to us or for pre-existing damage.
Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Service Assist Pro or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
Website Use
You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe upon the rights of others or restrict their use of the website. Prohibited activities include transmitting harmful code, attempting unauthorized access, or engaging in any activity that could damage or impair our services.
Privacy
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect and use your information.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Service Assist Pro, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms of Service or your use of our services.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms of Service or our services will be governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and Canada. Both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation before pursuing legal action.
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective when posted on our website with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
